Our Travelers Story

What inspired your destination choice?
The more I explore Chile, the more I fall in love with the destination. Chile offers everything I love when it comes to travel and adventure: remote landscapes, wild wilderness, incredible properties, delicious flavors, friendly people, and more. Chile is safe, comfortable, and very close to the same time zone as North America, so there is no jet lag!
What most surprised you about your adventure?
The experiences and activities at the Singular Patagonia were world-class and unique, with incredible guides. From hiking the plains and peaks of Patagonia to exclusive estancias nestled in fjords with the best lamb barbecue south of the equator.
Estancia Cerrdo Guido is helping to conserve the pumas and is a wildlife conservation tucked in the shadows of Torres del Paine.
The streets of Valparaiso are bursting with color from top street artists from around the world, and the wine paired with every course at Clos Aplata tingles your tastebuds.
I was surprised and delighted daily by the experiences and activities in Chile.
What are your favorite stories and experiences from the adventure?
We were driving down the road in the Torres del Paine Region on our way to our hotel, and out of the corner of our eyes, we all saw a fox running like a bat out of hell from a rhea after it tried to have one of its baby reys for a snack. I will always remember the look on that fox’s face.

What were some of the elements of your favorite properties?
At Clos Aplata, after a life-changing breakfast, I rode a horse through the vineyard, sipping wine. I truly felt like I was the picture on the website and was living a dream. This experience was followed by a massage in my villa and relaxing in my private plunge pool before a decadent three-course dinner and an espresso martini to make you say yes, sir, may I have another.

I can not say enough good things about the Singular Patagonia.
There is no question that one this is voted one of the top properties in the world. I will look forward to staying here, time and time again.
Estancia Cerro Guido is delightful. The staff is perfect, the food is the best around, the view is insane, and the desserts might just be some of the very best of your life. Best bedtime cookies around.

How were your guides?
It would be impossible to have better guides. From knowledge to personality, the guides knocked it out of the park.
Would you do anything different?
I would stay longer!
Do you have any advice for other travelers dreaming of this destination?
The travel logistics in Chile are no joke. It is a long way to travel to these remote regions at the ends of the Earth. Be ready for long travel days, long distances, and long days in general. But be prepared to be taken care of every step of the way, with wonderful service and lots of snacks.
What did you learn?
Chile takes care of its immigrants and tries to set them up for a life of success in Chile. Chile’s culture and history is changing as it evolves to keep up with the demands of modern life. But Chileans are full of pride and love their land and will protect some of the Earth’s wildest places.

Was there a favorite meal?
Ha. I think I gained 10 lbs in Empandas alone. The food in Chile is incredible, including the desserts so be prepared to eat alot and enjoy it all.
Meal moments that stand out in no particular order:
- King crab casserole at Singular
- “Love” muffins at Singular
- Lamb B b Que at Cerrdo Guido
- Cheese and Chive empanadas at Cerro Guido
- Orangesiscle at Clos Aplata
- Lamb for two at Singular Patagonia
- dessert at Cerrdo guido
